Weather proof 1st aid bottle

I have been using my “weather proof” 1st aid nalgene bottle for years.

I like the fact that everything is in one place and I never have to worry about the contents getting wet.

I pack it with me on hikes, on moto rides and have one in my vehicle as part of my emergency kit.

  • polysporin
  • 1 providone-iodine solution
  • 1 compound benzoin tincture swab stick
  • 1 lighter
  • 1 tweezers
  • 4 q tips
  • 1 tampon
  • 3″ x 4″ non adherent sterile pad
  • 2 x 4″ x 4″ surgical sponges
  • 2 x wet naps
  • 2 x alcohol wipes
  • 2 x 2′ x 2′ cotton sponges
  • 1 eye compress pad
  • 10 assorted bandaids

 

  • duct tape wrapped on outside of bottle

summary of uses:
polysporin-

  • to treat minor wound,cuts, scrapes, burns
  • helps prevent or treat mild skin infections

providone-iodine solution-is an antiseptic used for skin disinfection
for pets-

  • disinfects staph, yeast, and almost all common bacteria.
  • excellent for hot spots, cuts, minor abrasions, and any other skin problem that either is infected or could become infected
  • doesn’t sting or irritate the dog’s skin
  • safe if dogs lick the area after cleaning

benzoin tincture-

  • can be applied to minor cuts as a styptic and antiseptic, fever blisters
  • is used in the U.S. military to treat blisters
  • is a topical skin adhesive that prepares the skin for maximum adhesion of dressings or bandages
  • creates a tacky surface allowing bandages to remain in place with less chance of curling or rolling.

tampon uses-

  • medical bandage
  • crude water filter
  • fire starter
